Venice was wonderful, it is everything you have seen in the movies plus more! Yes, we took a gondola ride through the canals, we toured St. Mark Basilica and rode another boat around the city. We even watched a couple get married in a gondola from our AIRBNB window.
We did a short stop in Venice on our way out from Rome. Your wx is definitely nice (we had light rain) but we felt we couldn't pass Venice if only for a handful of hours. It is special and something we'd like to re-visit for a bit longer stay. Noel did get a glass vase.
